This policy describes FieldProof Log for iPhone and iPad, operated by Tung Ngo. It matches the app’s local-only data inventory. It is a product disclosure, not legal advice.

Who we are

FieldProof Log is a local-first documentation app for inspectors, adjusters, and field technicians. The operator is Tung Ngo. There is no FieldProof user account, custom backend, or cloud sync.

What this app does not do

It does not create an account or sign you in.
It does not upload assignments, photos, notes, or coordinates to a FieldProof server. There is no FieldProof server for those features.
It does not use advertising, third-party analytics, tracking across other companies’ apps or websites, or the advertising identifier.
It does not request Contacts or Bluetooth permissions.

Data stored on your device

You capture site information so you can produce a report later. The app stores it in the iOS app sandbox (SwiftData, UserDefaults, and app-managed files) until you delete the assignment, the generated files, or the app.

Assignment details — site, client, job number, and status you enter to identify a job.
Photos — original JPEGs captured with the in-app camera and kept as the app’s own files.
Markup overlays — optional drawings saved as PNG files next to the original. Originals are not overwritten.
Observations — sequence number, category, and note text attached to each photo.
Categories — names you keep or customize in Settings.
First-run choices — work role and typical job size, stored on this device to seed categories and the preview. They are not sent anywhere.
Timestamps — the capture time recorded with each observation.
Optional coordinates — if location capture is on, the coordinate and accuracy your device reported. With location off, the app records “Location unavailable.”
SHA-256 hashes — a fingerprint of each original photo file, computed at capture.
Export branding and packages — the firm name you enter for PDF covers, plus PDF, CSV, and ZIP files kept until you delete them or the app.
Preferences — capture and export toggles such as location default, dictation, and PDF layout.
StoreKit entitlement — a local cache of whether the subscription is active, so limits and export behavior work offline.

Camera

FieldProof Log asks for Camera access when you start a capture. Images are stored in the app container and are not uploaded.

Location (optional)

Location is optional. If you enable it, each observation may store the coordinate and accuracy your device reported at capture, so a report can show where a photo was taken. You can work with location off and the app remains fully usable.

Microphone and speech recognition (optional)

These are used only if you dictate a note. The app requests on-device recognition when the system supports it. Typed notes always work. This version does not persist a recording when transcription is unavailable.

Hashes

Each original photo receives a SHA-256 fingerprint at capture so you or a recipient can confirm the file is unchanged. A hash does not confirm what a photo shows and does not establish legal validity.

Purchases (Apple)

The subscription is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the purchase, restore, and entitlement. FieldProof Log does not receive your payment card details, does not create an account to restore purchases, and has no custom commerce backend. Restore uses your Apple ID purchase history.

Apple may also provide store, download, and crash aggregates through App Store Connect. That handling is under Apple’s privacy policy and Apple’s developer terms.

Manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings. Paid use is also governed by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

Sharing and export

While a trial or subscription is active, you can export PDF, CSV, and ZIP packages through the system share sheet or Files. FieldProof Log does not send that package to us. After you share a file, the recipient’s handling is outside this policy.

After a trial or subscription ends, records stay on this device. Export is locked until you restore or purchase. Limited mode does not delete your files.

Access, correction, and deletion

There is no FieldProof account and no developer-held customer database. You can view and edit records in the app, export them while entitled, delete an assignment and its app-managed photos, delete generated export files in Settings, or delete the app.

If you email support, do not send payment details or site photos unless you choose to. We do not need those to explain how local deletion works.

Children

FieldProof Log is built for working field professionals, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

If the app’s data handling changes, this page will change and the date above will update. Adding a backend, account, or third-party analytics would require a new policy and a new App Store disclosure review.
